Being festive and
getting your home dressed up for the holiday season doesn’t have
to be an expensive endeavor. There are many small touches that can
be added to any room that will remind you of the season and bring
joy to your family. And I promise you, you won’t break the bank
doing it! Here are just a few very simple and affordable ideas for
decorating every room in your home.
The Christmas season
is truly the season of giving. There is no other
time of the year when people’s hearts are as open or
their hands are as freely generous as they are
during the Christmas holiday. I mean, even our
favorite Christmas motto states, “It is better to
give than to receive.”
Could you benefit from
a useful parenting tip with practical applications?
Most parents can. As a mother and a business owner
who has worked with hundreds of moms over the past
few years, I often hear the same thing.
"This year, it will be different," these overwhelmed
moms sigh as the holiday season draws near. "I won't
let my family do so many activities. It won't be
such a blur! We're going to have a sane holiday this
year."
Starting to sound like a New Year's Resolution,
isn't it? Great idea...if only you could pull it
off.
Don't throw your
Christmas cards away! There are so many creative
ways to use your Christmas cards, many of which you
can do with your kids. We have brought together some
ideas below.
The holidays
bring back such wonderful memories for me. But it's not
the gifts I received that I remember so much as the
feelings of anticipation and excitement I felt looking
forward to the glorious day to arrive. Back then I thought
it was the presents under the tree that made Christmas so
magical. Now I know otherwise.
As I think about this I want to teach my children to
understand and recognize the true spirit of Christmas. I
know they feel just as I did as a child and I want to make
sure they realize that if those feelings of anticipation
and wonderment are wrapped with love and service, they
will have a magical Christmas every year.
This year I've decided to make a Christmas Countdown
calendar.
It's
that time of year again. December is here, and it's time
to make your New Year's Resolutions. How did you do with
last year's resolutions? "My what," you ask? You
remember New Year's Eve. You, dressed in your finest,
holding up that glass of champagne. "THIS is
the year I will..."
Maybe you vowed to quit smoking. Did you swear off
cookies? Perhaps you promised to exercise every day.
Spend less? Save more? Whatever your New Year's
Resolutions, I'll bet they were big.
Looking back on it, I guess my resolutions were a little
unrealistic. I did get a little caught up in the
new years hype.
